Many organizations want to be more inclusive but aren't always sure where to start. I'm happy to support this process based on my own research experience and developed methods.
Below, I present three workshops, each with its own focus. They encourage action and insight into LGBTQIA+ inclusion. These workshops are well suited for teams and organizations to actively engage with themes like safety, diversity, and inclusion.
Connect with your audience
Who is this for?
For organizations, designers, and space managers who want to better understand who they are creating a space for.
Goal
In this workshop, you explore who your audience is, what assumptions you make, and how to make your space safer.
What you'll learn
You will get to know your audience better without searching for the 'average' user.
You will learn to view your space from different user perspectives.
You will discover how language, communication, and symbolism contribute to an inclusive space.
You will develop a concrete plan to make your space more inclusive.
For teams, volunteers, and staff who want to learn how to act when something unsafe occurs.
Goal
How do you respond to discrimination, misgendering, or other unwanted behavior? In this workshop, you practice realistic scenarios and develop a shared approach as a team.
What you'll learn
You will learn how to respond appropriately as a bystander.
You will develop team agreements on handling unwanted behavior and how to enforce them.
You will practice different intervention techniques and learn how to support someone after an incident.
For small queer initiatives, volunteer organizations, and independent studios.
